Not only is Trump’s approval ratings six points higher than Obama’s at the same point of their first terms, Trump’s approval has actually gone up four points since last week’s “senior official” went to the New York Times, anonymous and penned a cowardly op-ed. Between that and the Bob Woodward book full of lies, the media had a field day last week.
On September 5th, when all this crap started, Trump’s approval ratings sat at 44%. Considering the year and a half media onslaught of 90% negative coverage, that was pretty good considering. Today, September 10th, 2018, Trump’s approval rating sits at 48%, or four points higher since the New York Times crap.

At the same point of Obama’s first term, in 2009, Obama’s approval rating was only 42%. That’s despite 90%+ positive media coverage and fawning. You could probably figure that the media has affected the approval rating of both Trump and Obama by anywhere from 5 to 10 ten points.
If the media wasn’t so damn biased and corrupt and anti-Trump, his approval ratings would likely be between 55-60%.
If the media didn’t fawn all over Obama and never cover his scandals, at the same point of his presidency, he would have likely been around 37-32% approval rating.
There are of course other polls out there like biased CNN and Quinnipiac. They like to oversample Democrats and skew the averages of Trump’s overall approval ratings. Quinnipiac for example doesn’t even mention the party preference of who they sample which is fishy. They also admit they do most of their polling in states like Connecticut, New York, Virginia, Colorado, etc. All blue states.
