Troy Balderson was won the Ohio 12th congressional district special election. The media was giddy all night because of one county in this district, Franklin County. Always a Democrat strong hold, Franklin County turned out big for Pelosi’s pal O’Connor. For awhile, it looked like this race would be a blow out win for O’Connor because of Franklin county. But it wasn’t enough as the other counties came in and Balderson won.

Democrats of course are devastated. They are blaming Russia and the Green Party candidate for “stealing the election” the media had the convinced they would win.
Democrats though do get to take home the coveted participation trophy, because the race was close or something. The only reason this race was even close is because Democrat Franklin County turned out in large numbers while the rural counties that make up this congressional district didn’t. They vote in general elections, not special elections.
Let’s also remember that this district “only” went 53% for Trump in 2016. Balderson will get about 50% in this special election. Some blue wave. Of course the media will hype it as a win for Democrats anyway because it was “close.”
Also with all the media hype about the “Democrat energy” or something, less than 40% of the electorate in this district will have ended up voting today.
