In addition to the know hostages taken by Hamas during the October 7th terrorist attack in Israel, there are also 600 Americans trapped in Gaza that Hamas will NOT allow to leave. You can basically call these 600 Americans hostages as well, just not under the typical definition I guess of what the media calls hostages.
