In Louisiana, they have the weird “jungle primary” where if a candidate doesn’t crack 50% of the vote, they are forced into a runoff with the second place finisher. This wouldn’t be the case for Jeff Landry. After suffering for eight years under communist Democrat John Bel Edwards, the people of Louisiana finally wised up and elected a Republican for governor. Landry took over 51.5% of the vote. The second place communist Shawn Wilson only got about 25%. There were of course a ton of other candidates in the race too.

Spent a good part of the last year working on the Louisiana gubernatorial race.
People thought I was crazy for thinking we could win outright.
Congratulations Governor-Elect Jeff Landry.
Thank you to everyone that wrote letters to new movers.
Holy cow. We did it.
