So after fifteen rounds of voting, California RINO Kevin McCarthy finally got the Speaker’s gavel after nearly having a Waffle House fight between Matt Gaetz and Rep. Mike Rogers. But what did the Freedom Caucus actually get out of all the delays and extra votes? Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida gives as a list:

These are the concessions Kevin McCarthy made to get the votes. Do keep in mind that 90% of the GOP pundit-class fought against these things for the last few days. You would have had none of this if they got their way.

> Jeffersonian Motion to vacate the chair (was this way before Pelosi changed it in 2019).
> “Church” style amendment to look at the weaponization of the corrupt FBI
> Term limits vote (we know this will fail because of all those greedy, power hungry politicians)
> Single subject bills – no more omnibus crap loaded into one big bill
> Texas border plan (Sorry Arizona, you aren’t included with your communist Democrat governor)
> Ending ALL Covid-19 mandates and funding
> 72 hours to read a bill before a vote
There are other things that haven’t made it out into the public yet. But this is at least a start.
