I’m looking forward to see what happens to Paypal stock on Monday. Until then, watching all the backlash against Paypal this weekend will have to do. The hashtag #bankruptPayPal was a trending topic earlier on Twitter today before the algorithms kicked in and pushed it down. Paypal updated their AUP notice yesterday that starting November 3rd, Paypal would “fine” users $2,500 for what they considered “misinformation”. Once that became public, the backlash was overwhelming and millions of Paypal users closed their account. The hashtag #BankruptPaypal went viral. There are some tweets from it:

I canceled @PayPal and @Venmo today. I don’t want banking services to try to control speech or punish me if my beliefs or purchases don’t line up with what they think is acceptable. #CancelPaypal #BankruptPaypal
