Personally, the only thing that interests me about Super Bowl LVII will be the memes that come from it. But apparently, before the game, they played what they call the “black national anthem”, a song entitled Lift Every Voice by someone named Michael Cooper. Here I thought the regular national anthem was supposed to represent everyone in this country, regardless of race, birth place, political ideology or religion. But in 2023, it’s not. You have to have separate national anthems now. Whatever.
Seems thought a lot of people didn’t like having the “black national anthem” played before the American national anthem. Here are some reactions on typically leftist Twitter:
Your racist, and divisive "black national anthem " was the worst choice yet. Hello? Its one nation under God! One damn anthem. Talk about exclusivity

No such thing as the black national anthem. We have one nation. One people. We are Americans of all colors, races and religions. We are America. One nation under God. #SuperBowl https://t.co/o2DImpualF

@NFL we have only one National Anthem !! It’s one Nation under God !! This political pandering is absolutely ridiculous and continues to divide Americans. Shameful.

Good for her! The Star Spangled Banner is the ONLY national anthem. One nation UNDER GOD https://t.co/POxM5T4wci

Yeah black national anthem at the SB here. Divisive? Unity? I thought we were one nation under God but evidentially the divisiveness continues on the national stage. Pathetic

I’m personally not “offended” by the “black national anthem”. I just don’t see the point in having two separate anthems for two separate groups of people. But whatever. It’s what communist Democrats do, going back to their KKK and segregation days.
