Highland Park, Illinois is about 25 miles Northwest of Chicago, and considered a middle-upper class area of the decaying stating of Illinois. Still, that didn’t stop a mass shooting at a Fourth of July Parade today that has resulted in the death of five people, and the hospitalization of at least 19. The shooter is still at large.
Highland Park’s most famous trait is that it was the site where the movie Ferris Beuller’s Day off was filmed. Oh, and they are very strict with their gun laws. How well did that work out yet again? Oh, this is yet another heavily Democrat city/county in Illnois. Highland Park is in Lake County.

For my followers in other places, Highland Park is a generally sleepy and peaceful suburb 25 miles north of Chicago. It’s the scene of many movies including Ferris Beuller’s Day Off, Risky Business, Home Alone because it looks like a classic American suburb/city. Pop 31,000.
