The more the media uses their fear porn to tout the Ukrainians in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the more skeptical I get. So the latest reports about Belarus, a small Russian aligned country joining the invasion of Ukraine has me wondering if it’s true. Like many things that come out of Ukraine these days, it may just be pure propaganda. We’ll see what happens.
Ukraine was bracing Friday for Belarus to join the deadly Russian invasion — with officials warning that troops could cross the border within hours.
The alert from the Ukrainian government’s Center for Strategic Communications followed a meeting in Moscow between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarussian leader Alexander Lukashenko.
“According to preliminary data, Belarusian troops may be drawn into an invasion on March 11 at 21:00 (1900 GMT),” the center said in a statement.
That time corresponds to 2 p.m. EST.
Belarus is a Russian ally that allowed Moscow to deploy around 30,000 troops to its border with Ukraine ahead of the Feb. 24 invasion.
