Likely the best thing to happen with this Kevin McCarthy scandal of living with junk pollster/lobbyist Frank Luntz, is that he will likely throw Liz Cheney under the bus in order to distract from his own scandal and try and pretend nothing happened. There is no honor among thieves, and McCarthy is already starting to show it. McCarthy who defended Cheney back in January to keep her in GOP leadership position is starting to talk trash about Cheney now. McCarthy knows he’s been exposed, so he needs to save his own ass.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is taking aim at No. 3 Republican in the House, Rep. Liz Cheney, publicly questioning her ability to play a leading role in the party’s messaging efforts and privately stating that he’s “had it with her.”
The California Republican was caught on a hot mic on Tuesday stating “I think she’s got real problems. I’ve had it with … I’ve had it with her. You know, I’ve lost confidence. … Well, someone just has to bring a motion, but I assume that will probably take place,” while speaking with Fox News anchor Steve Doocey off camera, Axios first reported.
His comments come as Cheney faces renewed calls for her ouster from leadership, with the pro-Trump faction of the party calling for a second vote for her removal, citing her criticisms of former President Donald Trump.
During his Tuesday morning appearance on Fox and Friends, McCarthy was more measured in his criticisms of the Wyoming Republican, taking aim at her leadership style.
