One thing being ignored in the nothingburger New York Times story that the media is trying to hype into a bombshell is what Trump actually paid to the US Treasury in 2016 and 2017. Regardless of what his final tax payment was for those years, Trump actually paid $1 million to the US Treasury in 2016, and $4.2 million in 2017. It’s all right there in the New York Times nothingburger, but it seems to be missing from all the media hysteria over the illegal leak. Again, let’s assume his tax rate was $750 in ’16 and ’17 is true. There was nothing illegal about it. It was using the accountants to use the tax code as it’s written.
