There are all kinds of reports tonight that a Democrat named Jeff Van Drew from New Jersey is going to switch parties from socialist Democrat to Republican, all because of the impeachment sham. If these reports are true, this is an epic blow to Democrats and shows what the real effect of the sham impeachment will be.
Jeff Van Drew represents New Jersey’s second district, the southern most part of the state. The district was won by Trump in 2016 after going to Obama twice. The district is only rated R+1 which makes it basically a purple district. not deep red or blue. This means Democrats are in even more trouble that I first imagined. I don’t trust Van Drew, and hopefully a conservative will primary him if he does switch parties. He voted against the impeachment inquiry.
Van Drew isn’t doing this because he’s really a conservative, he’s worried about getting wiped out in the 2020 election as a Democrat.

The switch comes after Van Drew was one of two Democrats to vote against formalizing the impeachment inquiry last month. Since then, the freshman Democrat has become increasingly critical of the partisan effort.
Van Drew’s willingness to buck his party on impeachment has damaged his standing among Democrats back home. When reporting on the congressman’s imminent switch Saturday, The Washington Post cited a polling memo they obtained indicating Van Drew had lost the confidence of 58 percent of likely Democrat voters in his district.
The chance of losing renomination is purportedly a major factor in Van Drew’s decision.
