Dazed and confused Robert Mueller couldn’t even remember which president first appointed him to be U.S. Attorney back in the 1980’s. Ronald Reagan appointed Herr Mueller to be acting United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts back in 1986. Who did Mueller think appointed him? George Bush. Is Mueller on drugs or something? If you are appointed to a position as important as US Attorney, you would think you could remember it, even if it was 33 years ago. Yet, Herr Mueller, appearing dazed and confused couldn’t remember.

“Which president,” Stanton repeated.
“Oh, which president?” Mueller said, then paused. “I think that was President Bush.”
“Um, according to my notes, it was President Ronald Reagan had the honor to do so.”
The response drew scattered chuckling.
“My mistake,” Mueller said, drawing further laughter.
