The media fell in love with Mayor Pete Buttigieg from South Bend. The loved him mainly because he is gay. Time Magazine even put Buttigieg and his partner on the cover of their magazine calling them America’s “First Family.” Buttigieg’s poll numbers steadily climbed from 0-1% to double digits in some polls. But now poor little Alfred E. Neuman Buttigieg is all but done. The shooting of an African American male by a white cop in South Bend has angered residents and Buttigieg’s town hall in South Bend this past weekend was a complete and utter disaster. Not only did Buttigieg look weak and incoherent, he came off as someone who just doesn’t give a damn and is far more interested in running for president. For all intents and purposes, Buttigieg is toast.
