Riley Howell is one of two people killed at UNC Charlotte yesterday when some piece of shit starting firing on people on the Kennedy building. Riley Howard is a hero. Not just because he was shot and killed by the shooter last night, but also for his sacrifice that saved other people’s lives and kept the death count at two. More often than not in these situations the deranged shooter gets all the media attention while the victims and heroes are basically ignored. I hope that’s not the case for Riley Howell. He is being hailed as hero for jumping on the shooter to save the lives of others. Howell was 21 and a North Carolina native.

Chief Putney says the first and foremost hero is Riley Howell. Putney says Howell having no place to run or hide, fought the assailant. Without his work, the suspect may not have been disarmed.
