Looks like the Never Trump hacks have found their Evan McMuffin for 2020, even though he’ll be too cowardly to run. That would be Howard Schultz of Starbucks, a liberal Democrat who could never win a primary as a Democrat. Why so many conservatives actually like hacks like Hugh Hewitt is mind boggling. But Hugh Hewitt, writing for Falmer Jeff Bezos Washington Post is trying to suggest that Schultz could win as a third party candidate or something. Once the threats of financial ruin and against his family begin from communist/socialist big donors, Schultz will scurry away and you wouldn’t hear another peep out of him. He is not going to run as a third party candidate in 2020, no matter how much some of us hope he does.

Imagine it’s the morning of November 4th, 2020. After staying up late because the vote counting was going so slowly and too many states were still not called, you finally packed it in and went to bed. Then, wiping the sleep from your bleary eyes the next morning, you turn on the news to learn that President Trump has been defeated. But it’s not the Democratic nominee who will replace him. It’s Howard Schultz.
That’s the premise of an interesting and speculative piece from our friend Hugh Hewitt in the Washington Post this week. Sound a bit too much like alternate reality fiction? Well… you’re probably right. But Hugh does make a solid point about some of the oddly crafted portions of the Constitution and its amendments.
