Gene Evin Atkins has been IDed as Sliverlake Trader Joe’s shooter and hostage taker. I don’t know why it took so many hours to get this guy’s name out there but it finally is. Gene Evin Atkins ‘allegedly” shot his grandmother seven times and another woman before heading to Silverlake Trade Joe’s and taking hostages. One woman was killed probably by Atkins during the hostage standoff.

So far, there is no known social media presence of Gene Evin Atkins. Unless Facebook got the name hours ago and scrubbed his page, there doesn’t appear to be a Facebook page. A lot of the time these domestic abusers have Facebook pages.
Gene Evin Atkins is 28 years old, originally described as a teenager.
Gene Evin Atkins shot his grandmother seven times. She is in critical condition. He also his girlfriend, who is expected to survived.
The woman killed, a store manager at Trader Joe’s was named Melyda Corado.
Atkins took between 40 to 59 people hostage at Trader Joe’s late yesterday afternoon. Some of the hostages were children.
