Seems like so long ago. June of 2016. John McCain comes out, blasting Obama for his lifting the transgender ban in the military. This was John McCain’s response to Obama lifting to transgender ban in June of 2016:
John McCain on transgender ban in 2016 vs 2017 |

McCain wondered whether the administration is more interested in the “publicity,” explaining that this will require some legislation to be passed.
McCain said he doesn’t hear much directly about what this administration does, including in Iraq and Syria, and generally has to rely on the media.
“I’ve never seen anything like this. I’ve dealt with Democrat and Republican presidents but never an administration that treats the Congress with not just disdain, but contempt.”
Watch the full interview, including McCain’s reaction to U.S. sailors giving up information to Iran.
And this is John McCain just days ago after Donald Trump announced he was re-instating the transgender ban:
On Wednesday, after Trump shocked Washington by tweeting out his new “transgender”-free military policy via Twitter, McCain issued a statement blasting the president, which included this passage:
Any American who meets current medical and readiness standards should be allowed to continue serving. There is no reason to force service members who are able to fight, train, and deploy to leave the military—regardless of their gender identity. We should all be guided by the principle that any American who wants to serve our country and is able to meet the standards should have the opportunity to do so—and should be treated as the patriots they are.
So which is it Johnny boy? Are you for transgender in the military or are you against it? You couldn’t have changed your position in barely a year. McCain is a filthy hypocrite.
