Neil Gorsuch has cleared the Senate Judiciary Committee with a vote of 11 years and 9 nays. The votes were completely along party line votes. So now Gorsuch moves onto a filibuster on Thursday if McConnell doesn’t go nuclear then a full vote to confirm on Friday where he would only need 51 votes to become the newest judge of the Supreme Court.
BREAKING: Senate Judiciary Committee votes 11-9, along party lines, to advance Gorsuch's SCOTUS nomination to the full Senate.

The ball is in McConnell’s court now. Democrats are claiming the 41 votes to filibuster Gorsuch. McConnell will have to change Senate rules (Harry Reid style) in order to get Gorsuch confirmed. The only reason why Democrats will not support Gorsuch is because they are still bitter over the November election.
I say, go nuclear McConnell. Even if Democrats controlled the Senate and had a Democrat president, Republicans always cower anyway and give the Democrats they’d need for the 60 votes for cloture. It’s not like the Republican would ever filibuster any Democrat SCOTUS nominee. This is a win-win situation for McConnell, if he doesn’t screw it up.
