That GOP loyality pledge thing can be a bitch. Even though all three candidates backed away from supporting it during the recent town hall, the biggest impact may be for Donald Trump. He won all 50 of South Carolina’s delegates. Trump crushed everyone in that primary election, beating then second place Marco Rubio by 13 points. When candidates filed for the GOP primary in South Carolina, they had to agree with the ‘rules’ of the South Carolina primary. Those rules state “hereby affirm that I generally believe in and intend to support the nominees and platform of the Republican Party in the November 8, 2016 general election.” Trump and all the GOP candidates had to sign it and they did.

So if they strip Trump of his 50 delegates in South Carolina, where do they go? Both Cruz and Kasich also backed away from agreeing to support whomever the GOP nominee is. What are they going to do? Give the delegates to second place Marco Rubio who hasn’t said a word since finally ending his embarrassing campaign?
