Looks like Little Jebbie’s chickens are coming home to roost. Turns out now only did his brother use eminent domain to get land for a baseball stadium, but as governor of Flordia, Jeb Bush had the EPA seize a disabled veteran’s Jesse Hardy home via eminent domain. You know, the thing Bush claims he hates so much?
I don’t like eminent domains. I don’t care if you are Donald Trump or Ted Cruz. But Jeb Bush’s hypocrisy on eminent domain has has come full circle. Jesse Hardy’s for his 160 acres, was valued for tax purposes in 2000, at $860,000. Florida offered only $711,725 in 2002, hardly fair market value at the time. Jeb Bush and Bill Clinton even met in 2000 to plan this land grab. After becoming frustrated with Hardy’s refusal to give up his land, Bush and the Florida Cabinet authorized the state Department of Environmental Protection to begin eminent-domain proceedings.
