John Kasich is a slug, so reports abut improper robocalls in New Hampshire come as no surprise to me.
Kasich under review for improper robocalls: report |
---|
New Hampshire authorities are reviewing a complaint made against Republican presidential candidate John Kasich, alleging his campaign made two automated robocalls to a man on the federal “do not call” list.
Assistant Attorney General Stephen LaBonte confirmed to WMUR on Friday that James Burke, an advertising executive who said he supports Republican Chris Christie for president, filed the written complaint.
“We are looking into it,” LaBonte told WMUR, adding that the office has not received any other similar complaints during the primary race.
In his letter of complaint, Burke pointed to state law that says, “No person shall deliver or knowingly cause to be delivered a prerecorded political message to any telephone number on any federal do not call list.”
“We received two messages during the week of January 11, 2016,” he continued in the letter. “My home telephone number is registered on the federal do-not-call list, and therefore the calls from Kasich for President Campaign are in violation” of state law.
