It started about a week after the Paris terrorist attacks. Leftist sites like the Daily Beast started reporting that the The Statue of Liberty was ‘born a Muslim’. The Statue of Liberty was to be a Muslim peasant woman guarding the approach to the Suez Canal. Yea ok. A statue that has been the symbol of New York since 1886 was originally Muslim. Now, the tax payer funded Smithsonian is claiming the Statue of Liberty was to be a Muslim too.

So I’d like to know how the Statue of Liberty goes from being a Muslim peasant to a Libertas or Roman goddess. This pandering to Muslims is getting beyond laughable. It’s almost like the liberals want Muslims to be this cartoonish peace thing that everyone loves. Liberty and Islam in the same sentence. Now that’s funny!
