Anderson Cooper, one of tonight’s Democrat debate moderators was listed as a ‘notable past member’ of the Clinton Global Initiative. Basically while being a member of the Clinton Global Inititive, Anderson Cooper helped Hillary Clinton raise millions of dollars, yet he is the so called ‘moderate’ of the debate tonight. The Clinton Foundation later told Mediaite that none of these journalists were asked to pay the $20,000 membership fee required of members. However, it’s safe to say that access to big name journalists was a key selling point for paying Clinton Global Initiative members. In a nutshell, Anderson Cooper helped Hillary Clinton raise money, and now he’s presented as an impartial moderator for tonight’s debate.
Anderson Cooper has already said there will be no ‘gotcha’ questions at tonight’s debate. Unlike the Republican debate on CNN a month earlier where moderators tried to instigate fights between the candidates, tonight’s debate will be softballs to Hillary Clinton. There’s a reason why America’s trust in the media is at an all time low. This is just one reason.
