The Washington Post is desperate to try and get better numbers for Obama and Democrats. Even when the Washington Post uses a sample rate that contains 11% more Democrats than Republicans, they still can only get a 41% approval for Obama. If the Washington Post had used a more realistic sample size, such as D+3 or D+4, Obama would be in the 30’s in his approval. The poll also asks who people will vote for in the mid-term election. Even with the Democrat oversample, only 1% more voters would vote for Democrats than Republicans. That shows you what trouble Democrats are in this fall. While presidential elections tend to be D+3 or D+4, midterms tend to be more even.
