A Delta flight had to make an emergency landing at Kennedy Airport Wednesday evening because of hydraulic pressure problems, officials say.
Delta Flight 886 was scheduled to land at LaGuardia but had to divert to Kennedy when the plane experienced low hydraulic pressure, according to a Port Authority official.
Passengers said they were told they needed to land at Kennedy because it had a longer runway, which would better ensure a safe landing.
“It was a little scary,” said passenger Bhatia Tasneem.
“I have to admit, my heart started racing a little bit, and I was worried about what may or may not happen,” she said. “You can’t help but have that question when something like this happens.”
