Three California Democrat State Senators Rod Wright, Leland Yee, and Ron Calderon were all suspended by the California state Democrat party for their various corruption scandals. Leland Yee, a corrupt San Francisco, anti-gun Democrat was found to be gun running and taking bribes. Rod Wright has been convicted of voter fraud and perjury and Ron Calderon faces federal corruption charges. None of these three California Democrat state senators resigned from office, so the suspension vote was needed by California Democrats to make it appear as if they are doing something to clean up their party.

The California State Senate voted by a 28-1 margin Friday to suspend embattled Senator Leland Yee and two other Democratic senators who are facing separate corruption charges.
Yee of San Francisco was indicted this week on federal charges that included accepting bribes and coordinating an international gun-running operation.
Democratic senators Ron Calderon also faces federal corruption charges and Rod Wright has been convicted of voter fraud and perjury.
All three will retain their annual base pay of $95,291 even if suspended, but Steinberg also plans to seek a constitutional amendment on Friday that will deny pay to suspended lawmakers. The state Constitution currently says lawmakers can lose their pay only if they are expelled or resign.
