Update: The plane was in fact hijacked by the co-pilot and landed safely in Switzerland. Aside from some rattled nerves, nobody on board was hurt, the plane landed safely in Geneva, and the terrorist is in custody.

There were reports all over Twitter that Ethiopian Airlines Flight 702 #ET702 was hijacked. Ethiopian Airlines posted the following press release earlier tonight, then suddenly deleted it and posted a revised statement:

What do they mean ‘forced to proceed?’ No one knows what’s really happening. It sounds like thankfully the plane landed safely in Geneva and all the crew and passengers are safe.
