Everyone is freaking out over the recent polls showing Obama getting a bounce from the DNC convention. Media hacks and leftists are already declaring Obama the winner, and some Republicans are at the point now where they look like they can commit suicide. What people don’t realize is that while Obama got a small bounce in the polls, most of them are flawed. Take for example Gallup. They have been intimidated by David Axelrod and sued by the Obama/Holder DOJ. Their polls aren’t as credible as they used to be. Then there’s the CNN poll released today. Not only did they oversample Democrats (again), but they sampled less than 4.5% of independent voters, that the polls showed Romney leading by 14% among. I wouldn’t even bother getting into PPP which is used by Daily Kos and bashed a conservative journalist yesterday for daring to question their polling. A legit poll is Rasmussen, showing Obama with a slight lead. Which was to be expected after a propaganda filled, media cheer-leaded convention. To put these polls in a bit of a perspective, lets go all the way back to 1984 when Ronald Reagan won 49 of 50 states, crushing Democrat Walter Mondale. Gallup in the summer of that year found Mondale leading Reagan. That was right after the Democrat convention when Mondale got his poll bump too.
Now don’t get me wrong, there is no way you can compare Mitt Romney to Ronald Reagan. Plus the media landscape today is far more corrupt than it was in 1984, but there’s also the Internet and Romney’s money advantage for ads. If Obama’s convention ‘bump’ lasts into October, maybe I’ll start worrying then.
