Mitt Romney has lead every Rasmussen Arizona Republican primary poll to date. But the last one showed Willard Romney with just a eight point lead on Rick Santorum last week. This poll, like the one in Michigan was conducted after the Wednesday night date, so it’s looking like Santorum’s poor debate performance, and Willard teaming up with Ron Paul to bash Rick Santorum might have worked. Willard Mitt Romney now leads Rick Santorum by thirteen points in Arizona according to this poll, with Newt Gingrich in third 16% and Ron Paul at 8%. The significance of this primary is that it is winner take all like Florida. There has also been early voting in Arizona for weeks now, so it’s looking more and more likely Willard will win Arizona on Tuesday.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Arizona Republican Primary Voters finds Romney leading Santorum 42% to 29%. The survey, taken after the last scheduled debate of the GOP candidates, finds Romney up three points and Santorum down two from a week ago when it was a 39% to 31% race.
