Santorum within five of Newt Gingrich in his home state of Georgia? Wow! I still think Newt Gingrich will win the Super Tuesday Georgia primary, but I’m really surprised it’s this close. According to the latest Rasmussen poll, Newt Gingrich gets 33% of the Georgia primary votes while Rick Santorum gets 28%. Just five percent less than Gingrich in his home state. Mittens is a distant third at 20% and Ron Paul brings up the rear at 9%.
A new telephone survey of Likely Georgia Republican Primary Voters shows Gingrich with 33% support, followed by former Senator Rick Santorum at 28%. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney runs third with 20% of the vote, and Texas Congressman Ron Paul trails with nine percent (9%).
